One + One is a project that brings together children from both mainstream schools and special needs school, to learn about one another and develop deeper understanding of the anothers' differences, through sharing their sameness.
The idea came about when...

One + One is about erasing the lines between children in mainstream schools and children in special needs schools, through creativity and large doses of fun. Over two sessions in January, Lucy, Ramzi, Parsia, Nardine, Yusrah, Isabella, Mercades, Daniel, Murad, Humaid and Hassan, from the Child Learning & Enrichment Medical Center and Collegiate American School, had some One + One fun, let their creativity loose, shared, played, and learned together. These are the results of their One + One journey, of kids learning about each others differences, but also about each others sameness, or as Ramzi from Collegiate American School so eloquently put it, learning that “we’re all connected because we’re all people.”

In the aftermath of the super fun & really successful One + One project we sat down with the kids from Collegiate American School and asked them for their thoughts on the project that brought them together with a group of kids from the special needs focused Child Learning & Enrichment Medical Center. This is what they had to say about their One + One experience and what it means to look past their own and others differences to see each others sameness. For info & more goodness on One + One head to www.thesamenessproject.com Thanks to all the kids who took part + Collegiate American School & the Child Learning & Enrichment Medical Center. Special thanks to PepsiCo for helping us to get the One + One adventure started.
